Understanding what it means to be human.
Mind My Mind exists because being human is complicated.
Every one of us is trying to navigate the same fundamental challenge: how to survive, how to connect, how to find meaning and, if we're fortunate, how to build a life worth living.
Along the way we make mistakes. We develop habits that help and habits that harm. We carry wounds, biases, fears, hopes and contradictions. We hurt ourselves, we hurt others, and we spend much of our lives trying to understand why.
This website is an invitation to approach that journey with curiosity rather than judgement.
Here you'll find articles, reflections, practical tools, mindfulness exercises and evidence-based resources designed to help you better understand yourself, other people and the world around you.
My hope is not to provide all the answers, but to encourage exploration, open-mindedness, compassion and growth. To offer ideas, perspectives and strategies that support good mental health, meaningful relationships and a rich and fulfilling life.
Whether you arrive here seeking support, knowledge, insight or simply something interesting to think about, I hope you find something that helps.
After all, understanding the mind is ultimately about understanding what it means to be human.
All humans are welcome here.
Take what is useful.
Remain open to new ideas.

The Human Behind Mind My Mind…
I'm Penelope Lovegrove and I’m a Clinical Psychologist based in Melbourne, Australia. I am passionate about people and have an endless curiosity and thirst for understanding the human condition. I love getting to know people and am fascinated to find out what life is like for everyone else.
Over the years I've learned that most people are not looking for perfection. They are looking for understanding.
My work has shown me that beneath our differences we are remarkably similar. We all carry fears, hopes, wounds, limitations and contradictions. We are all trying to survive, find connection, create meaning and, if we're fortunate, experience moments of peace along the way.
Mind My Mind grew from a desire to share ideas, resources and reflections beyond the therapy room. It is a space where psychology meets curiosity, compassion and honest conversations about what it means to be human. It’s also a lot easier to direct my clients to a website rather than email them the resources to compliment the work we do together in session.
Whether you are seeking practical tools to improve your wellbeing, exploring questions about human nature, or simply looking for a different perspective on life's challenges, I hope you find something here that is useful, thought-provoking and supportive.
